Arts at Earl: The Deep Roots Ensemble

Free and open to the public; no tickets needed. The Deep Roots Ensemble is a chamber music group focused on studying and performing traditional American music. Formed in 2015 by Taylor Ackley and Alison Rowe, the group brings this rich tradition of music-making into concert halls and academic settings. Since their formation, the group has performed extensively around the United States, giving concerts, lecture-recitals, workshops, and master classes. The Deep Roots Ensemble is also dedicated to the performance of new music, performing contemporary works that draw upon American roots music. The group’s members are among the most active performers of new music in the region. The Deep Roots Ensemble’s debut album, Songs from the Bitterroot, was released by 4Tay Records.
